Background:

Founded in 1896, Potters Gate Primary is situated in the heart of Farnham and serves a large area, which extends to both sides of the A31, and stretches to the fringes of the Hogs Back. The school buildings have been altered many times over the years. There are 14 carpeted and well-equipped rooms, 10 of which are classrooms and the remainder a library, music room, learning support room and playcentre for the after-school club. Uniquely the school has a museum which was built into the high roof of two classrooms and has a 'lovely attic feel to it.' This was built in the centenary year and is filled with artifacts and memorabilia. The school has a 'large' hall, equipped for gymnastics or drama, and a 'spacious' playing field. Last year the school offered 23 extra-curricular activities with the help of parents. Children have been involved in community events such as singing to senior citizens and performing with the church group. Potters Gate have reached the finals of local football leagues and have won cups for swimming and district sports.
