Founded in 1908 in leafy village; buildings extended and updated to provide 'comfortable and well-equipped' learning environment, including unit for children experiencing language delay and disorder; seven class bases, library, ICT suite, music/dance/drama suite, art/design and technology suite, main hall. Pleasant grounds include environmental studies area and assault course. French taught as additional subject. Sport 'a considerable strength'; many trophies in district athletics, football, netball and cricket tournaments; extensive swimming programme. Strong emphasis on dance and drama; school is member of Guildford Amateur Theatre Association; one member of staff is professional operatic producer; three are music graduates.
