Background:

Park Mead Primary is a primary school for boys and girls. The age range of the pupils is seven to 11. The school was opened in September 1967. It has grounds comprising playing fields and environment areas featuring a pond and woodland. The school building consists of 10 classes, an ICT suite, music room, library, special educational needs room, a kiln room and staff conference facilities. A spacious hall accommodates physical education and dance activities as well as whole school assemblies and productions. It is also used as a dining hall. An art and design technology facility is situated close to the main building. The school aims to provide a broad and balanced curriculum. A wide range of extra-curricular activities are offered at lunchtime and after-school. The school aims to create a happy, stimulating and secure environment based on mutual respect in which all children can develop intellectually, socially, emotionally, physically and creatively.
