Background:

Situated on a large pleasant site, Farnham Heath End is concentrating on improvement, believing that it is a good school but it will be outstanding. In addition to the ordinary GCSE courses, pupils can study separate sciences and upto three modern languages. A pupil support team assists children with special educational needs. Great importance is attached to careers education, which includes work experience placements during Year 10 and subject 'taster days' at the sixth form college. The curriculum is complemented by a very strong extra-curricular programme. Farnham leisure centre is used for squash and swimming, and sports teams have found success at district and county levels. There is an annual musical production and regular concerts for choirs and the orchestra. The school is proud of its 'learning resource for the millennium' which consists of a suite of 22 'state of the art' multimedia computers in a custom built room, which can also be used during lunchtime and after-school. Science laboratories are also newly refurbished. There are plans to improve the already impressive facilities, with an all-weather pitch being built during 2000. The school aims to provide a happy, orderly and caring environment where it offers high quality teaching which helps to develop the complete student academically, socially, morally and culturally.
