Background:

Tadworth Primary is set in the North Downes Surrey village of Tadworth. It is proud of its excellent facilities, including well-equipped classrooms, a multi-purpose hall and a specially designed technology centre. The grounds allow for netball, football, cricket, athletics and environemtnal studies. There are separate play areas for four year olds, five to seven year olds and eight to 11 year olds. The school has won several awards including the Stem Project Award from the Science Museum and the National Education award for outstanding after-school activities. The school's success is 'due largely to an ethos that values each child as an individual'. 'High achievers are challenged, while children with difficulties recieve the help of the SEN department so that they too can reach their full potential.' Setting in Years 4, 5 and 6 supports all abilities. Tadworth offers 'many extras' like a fully-equipped ICT room, music and a wide range of sporting and other extra-curricular activities including chess, French and homework club. The school has a 'very active' parents and teachers association which 'successfully fundraises and organises many social functions'.
