Background:
The Chandler School was established in 1975 and in the Surrey re-organisation of 1994 it became known as The Chandler Church of England (Aided) Junior School. The 'attractive modern' school building, with 'spacious' grounds and playing field, is situated in the village of Witley, close to the National Trust area of Witley Common. 'Close' links are maintained with the village communities and particularly with the churches of Milford and Whitley, whose vicars regularly lead the school in assemblies. The school competes in inter-school events in athletics, football, netball, cricket, cross-country running and rounders. There is a wide range of extra-curricular music clubs which comprise of a choir, orchestra, recorder and ensemble groups. Other extra-curricular activities on offer include chess, art, drama, and gardening.
