Background:
Woodlea Primary School is accommodated in a country house in a rural village setting. It offers seven classes. In addition to the National Curriculum, French and Chess are taught to juniors, in order to build confidence and self-esteem. Children can learn to play an instrument, and join the choir or orchestra. After-school clubs are run for all juniors and teams compete against other schools in all the main competitive sports. The school is particularly proud of its success in cross-country running, having won two trophies recently. The curriculum is also supplemented by residential visits. Parents are helpful in raising funds, providing support in the classroom, and helping to run after-school clubs. The school aims to provide a framework which enriches the whole person mind, body and soul.
