Background:

Westfield is a friendly primary school, taking pupils from four to 11 years. The school is positioned at the end of Bonsey Lane between the woods of Westfield Common and the Hoe Stream. The large site has extensive grounds with two football pitches and a wild garden area. There is also a large hard surface playground with a range of play equipment. The buildings are spacious. There is a main assembly hall, gymnasium, well-equipped music room, two libraries, an up-to-date computer suite and a home economics room. Children have the opportunity to participate in various extra-curricular activities and clubs. These include choir, computer, cricket, cross-country, football, netball, rounders and sports club. The school also arranges educational visits. 'The Friends of Westfield' is a Parent Teacher Association that organises regular social and fundraising events. The school aims to provide the highest quality of education for all its children, in an environment that is challenging and motivating and where children can acquire the knowledge appropriate to their individual needs.
