Background:
Sandfield is a family school situated in the heart of Guildford. It was opened in 1901 as an Infant school and became a Primary school in September 1993. The school is housed in two Victorian buildings that have been extensively modernised to provide a stimulating learning environment. These include light airy classrooms, a library, an information and communication technology suite, a food technology area, additional work areas and offices. There is a new separate school hall which is used for physical education, music and assemblies and as a dining room. A distinct feature of the school is the attractive outside area that provides excellent learning opportunities in curriculum areas. These include a sensory pond area, a football area, a nature patch, a flower pit, a new rooftop garden, play areas and a trim trail The school provide a safe and happy environment in which children are nurtured, where they learn and have fun.
