Background:
The Greville Primary School opened in 1958 and was extended in 1996. It caters for 390 children between the ages of four and 11. There are 15 bright, well-equipped classrooms, a large hall, three group rooms and infant library. It has a new information centre which contains a wide selection of reference and non-fiction books and a suite of sixteen networked computers. The school has extensive grounds. There is a large playing field with an activity trail in one area. There are two large linked playgrounds and an environmental studies area. The school is well equipped with computers and ICT resources. Music also forms an important part of extra-curricular activities. There is an active orchestra in which children can develop instrumental skills and experience performing as part of a musical whole. The school has a wide range of extra-curricular activities including: art, athletics, choir, cricket, drama, football, netball, orchestra, recorder, rounders and gardening. The school aims to create a happy, caring and welcoming environment in which all children are learning and achieving together.
