Background:

Named after the Countess of Warwick, the Warwick School was founded in 1984 and achieved the status of specialist school in mathematics, science and technology in September 1998. Sports facilities include a floodlit all weather pitch, a sports hall, a gymnasium, a fitness room, a tennis courts, a traversing wall and an athletics field. Specialist facilities include a whole school computer network with a dedicated web-server providing CD-ROMs and Internet access from every classroom and e-mail addresses and server space for every pupil. Newly built extensions provide suites with computing facilities for English, mathematics and modern languages. Science laboratories and design and food technology suites are newly refurbished with laptop computers, a computer-controlled milling machine and an independent learning laboratory for pneumatics and mechanics. An ecology area with a stream, a pond and a weather station provides outdoor study facilities for science and geography. The arts centre includes a drama studio with stage lighting, video equipment, wardrobes and a music technology studio with computerised recording equipment. The school maintains e-mail links with schools in France, Germany and Holland and has exchange programmes with France and Germany.
