Background:
Therfield School is a secondary school and sixth form for boys and girls. The age range of the pupils is 11 to 18. It sets in a large attractive site, adjacent to woodlands, on the northern edge of Leatherhead. The school has one of the largest curriculum networks in Surrey. There are over 300 computers available for students' use (including 45 wireless laptops). There are three separate bookable ICT suites with E-white boards and projectors, a designated Modern Foreign Languages suite, which also provides video on demand, the resource centre and various other curriculum areas around the school. The school offers its pupils a wide range of sporting, creative and cultural opportunities to develop personality to the full. It has gained a reputation for excellence in sailing, badminton and cross-country and the teams regularly achieve success in county competitions in most sports. The school aims to provide a safe, caring and friendly community, based on mutual courtesy and respect in which learning can flourish.
