Background:
Housed in a modern, two-storey building with annexes, the school is set in 'spacious and attractive' grounds comprising games fields, quiet areas and wild areas, situated close to both Epsom town centre and the Downs. It shares the site with St Martin's Infant School. The school offers French in addition to the full range of National Curriculum subjects. Teams for football, rugby, netball, rounders and cross-country have all been successful in district tournaments and a budding chess team competes with local schools. The school's choirs have performed locally and at the Royal Albert Hall and Dorking Hall. St Martin's has close links with the church and all children take part in services at Harvest and Christmas. Children are encouraged to take responsibility for themselves and to be aware of the needs of others, and support local and national charities, many of which projects are suggested by the children through the school forum. The school has received an Excellence award.
